Freie Universität Berlin is committed to making its websites and digital services accessible and usable by as many people as possible. The Kalimat website is designed with accessibility in mind and aims to provide equal access to its content and functions.

The legal basis for Freie Universität Berlin’s accessibility efforts is the Law on Accessible Information and Communication Technologies of the State of Berlin (Barrierefreie-IKT-Gesetz Berlin – BIKTGBln) of March 4, 2019, which implements Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

This accessibility statement applies to the Kalimat website and its publicly accessible digital content.

Compatibility with accessibility requirements

The Kalimat website is developed and maintained by the Team Research Software, FUB-IT, Freie Universität Berlin, using the Open Encyclopedia System (OES).

We continuously work to improve the accessibility of the website and to ensure that its design, structure, navigation, and technical implementation support accessibility requirements.

Content with limited accessibility

Despite our efforts, some content or functions of the Kalimat website may currently have limited accessibility. This may include:

  • PDF documents and other downloadable files
  • Images or other media for which alternative descriptions may not yet be available
  • Content generated or imported from external or legacy sources
